By Christmas 2016, gamers could be enjoying their Nintendo NX, Nintendo's newest game console. Analyst predict the company will launching the product this June, with sales beginning during the holiday season.

Analyst Junko Yamamura said that the Japanese gaming company is preparing to do the announcements of the NX between the months of March and May, and then possibly unveil the product by June. However, the actual console won't be coming to store shelves until the start of the Christmas shopping season around October or November, per Barron's Asia. Yamamura also said that the strategy should boost profits for the company in the wake of the waning sales of the Nintendo 3DS.

So what can gamers expect from the Nintendo NX? Below are some of the speculated secret features:

1) It will have a morphing controller.

Daily Mail reported that the company has been developing a controller that has a "wraparound touchscreen" that can be reshaped and moved based on the type of games a user is playing. The controllers' buttons can allegedly pop out of the screen.

2) There will be no more discs.

Nintendo previously patented a system with no optical disc drive present, according to Polygon. It's speculated that the company is foregoing compact discs altogether and would go for digital downloads for games. It's a similar concept that Sony is said to be working on for the PS5, as previously reported on Latinos Health.

3) It is a handheld-console hybrid.

The Wall Street Journal reported that the NX is a hybrid console and will come with a feature that will double as a remote similar to the Wii U. However, unlike the Wii U remote, this will be streamlined and lighter in design and can be used separately for travels.

4) It will come with HoloLens or Virtual Reality.

Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima said that the new console will be "unique and different," via a Time interview. The statement sparked speculations that the company might be the first to present Virtual Reality or HoloLens in its most advanced form. Nintendo America executive Reggie Fils-Aime said in an interview with Polygon that the company has been experimenting with the technology for a while now.

5) It will be backward compatible.

Nintendo had a great lineup of titles before the Sony and Microsoft dominated the console wars. Apart from competing with these two tech giants, the company might rely on old favorites in order to have an impact the market.
