From the creators of "Halo" came "Destiny," an online-only first-person shooter video game created by Bungie and published by Activision, and released in September 2014. The Joseph Staten-written game was awarded the BAFTA Award for Best Game at the 2014 British Academy Video Games Awards and Games Radar's 2014 Game of the Year. Back in November 2014, Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg told Forbes that they have officially begun both future expansion packs and the sequel to the game.

Two years following the success of "Destiny," however, it seems that the sequel isn't ready to debut yet. In fact, Christian Post reports that "Destiny 2" may be pushed back from its original 2016 rumored release to 2017. The delay may be caused by several factors, including the departure of Bungie's president, Harold Ryan, who was replaced by former COO Pete Parsons.

"To the players of Destiny, I want you to know that my number one priority, and Bungie’s, is and always has been to deliver great games that we can all share together," Parsons said, as per Collection Gaming Network. "I believe that Destiny is a one-of-a-kind experience. I also believe you have yet to see our studio’s best work. My new role here at the studio will be entirely focused on fulfilling that promise."

Despite Parsons' commitment to continuing and developing the franchise, however, little has been seen of his "commitment," with no new material being released. The game reportedly has 25 million registered users, a community that's too valuable to be left hanging for more. In fact, it's this same community that demands for improvements in terms of the game. Youth Health reports that users have been experiencing bugs, and are not happy about it.

"Issues were noticed in Bungie's matchmaking during the SRL (Sparrow Racing League) event back in December, in which Bungie indicated the increased latency seen in the Crucible and increased matchmaking times are the result of SRL and the large amount of players queuing for SRL and should subside by the time SRL is done," Collection Gaming Network reports.

As of the moment, there isn't any official news coming from Bungie yet, so fans will have to wait and see what's next for "Destiny." For those who aren't in the know, however, "Destiny" is already available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.

"The Complete Destiny Collection" features "Destiny," "Expansion I," "Expansion II," and the latest chapter "The Taken King." For more information, visit destinythegame.com.
