While "GTA 5" has just received its latest DLC, gamers are alreadly talking about the sixth installment of the game. It seems that GTA players have already started speculating the possible new features and aspects of the "GTA 6."

According to Master Herald, Rockstar Games has already released an official statement announcing that developers are working on "GTA 6." Very few details have been released about the upcoming installment of GTA.

However, some sources have predicted that the upcoming GTA game will be released by 2018. Master Herald points out that the development of the fifth installment of GTA was announced in early 2011, but the game was released to the public in 2013.

Leslie Benzies, the founder of Rockstar Games, told MNR Daily that the developement team working on "GTA 6" were chock-full of ideas, reports Master Herald. One fresh idea that might actually make it to the final version of the game is the introduction of a female lead.

According to Movie Pilot, a lot of gamers have wondered when they will get to play as a female character in the game. Furthermore, the site points out that there are actually no female leads in any of the franchises created by Rockstar Games.

Since GTA has introduced three main characters into the game, many people believe that Rockstar can create a female character.

If Rockstar were to create a lead female character, however, developers would have to work on their portrayal of women in the game. Many describe the game as being sexist, due to the way women are represented in the game.

Developers at Rockstar will have to work on the way they depict women, in order to create a strong and believable female lead, commented Kenny McDonnell on Movie Pilot.

Rumors of a female protagonist were fueled when gossip emerged that Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes inspired the lead characters for "GTA 6," reports Franchise Herald.

According to Master Herald, Rockstar plans to adapt Gosling's role in "Drive" as a main character for the upcoming GTA installment. However, this news has yet to be confirmed.

Gosling and Mendez had neither denied nor confirmed if they would be participating in "GTA 6," but there is plenty of support for the pair to be part of the game series.

Besides the lead character being female, there is also news that he or she will be related to the "Red Dead Redemption" series, explains Franchise Herald. The site states that a descendant of John Marston might play the lead character in "GTA 6."
