Is Selena Gomez back in Nick Jonas' "Area Code?" Fans of the singer seem to think so. The 22-year-old former Jonas Brothers band member turned solo artist with the successful "Jealous" track to his name recently dropped an unfinished song via SoundCloud, which made fans speculate if the song, titled "Area Code," is about Selena Gomez, whom he briefly dated in 2008.

"I need someone to put a verse on this," Jonas wrote as a caption on the SoundCloud stream. According to Billboard, the lyrics of the song read: "I'm in your area code / I hit you up, are you alone? / So many places this could go / Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah / I'm f---ed up, you don't even know / Baby, it's better that you don't / I'm guessing now my cover's blown"

One particular line in the song—"You say I never been good for you / You can’t deny I gave it good to you"—sent fans speculating if this was Jonas' way of hinting at Gomez that he still liked her, as Gomez's latest single is titled "Good for You."

NY Daily News reports that as fans started tweeting about the connection, Jonas favorited some of the tweets, including one that said, "Oh my gosh. Nick. Selena. Never thought I'd be saying this again! Area Code references 'Good for You.'"

Jonas seemed to avoid the topic about his relationship with Gomez, as NY Daily News reports that when he spoke to British DJ Max Akhtar, he merely said, "It was nice to connect and just catch up. I'll leave it there."

More speculation revolved when Jonas and Gomez were spotted talking in the Video Music Awards after party in West Hollywood.

Jonas isn't the only one sending signals to Gomez, as Justin Bieber's music video for his new single 'What Do You Mean?' features the word Selena in a skate park's wall.

Gomez has yet to comment on Jonas and Bieber's lingering affections for her, but she spoke with Billboard in August to talk about her past relationship with Bieber.

"I didn't think I was doing anything bad by falling in love," Gomez admitted. "There's such an emphasis on people being the perfect thing and then destroying them because it's good press. Throw in the fact that you are a teenager—it makes it more difficult."

Gomez also talked about how much criticism she received for deciding to remove her purity ring when she started dating the pop singer. She said: "Sometimes you have to lie to yourself to get through the criticism, and then you're in your closet crying. It's been like that for me a couple of times, but I only want to learn from those things."
