In a quest to benefit people, Google has collaborated with tech giants Samsung, Sony, HTC, Acer, and Oculus to form a big group for development of Virtual Reality.

Virtual Reality is one of the most thriving sector and due to its fragmented environment, there are chances for massive failure and loss of efforts. The Global Virtual Reality Association came into limelight after the founder of Google DeepMind stated on its website about the collaboration.

A statement released on the group's website says that the Association has been created to enhance growth and development in the Virtual Reality Industry which is currently fragmented, reported by PCAuthority.

The real motive for the Association is not known. However, TechCrunch said that the Group would unlock VR's potential and amplify it in a bid to have improved VR Technology. VR is one of the most thriving sector and due to its fragmentation, there are chances for massive failure and loss of efforts.

The Unification of Standards has been given more importance as the user is unable to play a game on PSVR that the user purchases for HTC Vive. The unification of the standards in the VR Community will be of great use. The users can expect software and hardware to get compatible using the cross-platform technology that will enable hardware and software sharing between different devices.

Oculus VR is one of the most sophisticated VR Device. However, its sensors are not compatible with HTC Vive, and similar results are with other VR devices.

Here is a note from the GVRA press release, which reads: "The goal of the Global Virtual Reality Association will promote responsible development and adoption of VR globally. Association's members will develop,  conduct research, share best practices, and bring the international VR community together as the technology progresses. The group will also serve a resource for consumers, policymakers, and industry interested in VR..."
