Diclegis, one of the popular pills related to morning sickness for pregnant women has been making news for quite some time. Several studies show that the trials that were conducted to prove its efficiency were based completely on flawed data.

Amidst all the controversy, the person involved in it is none other than Kim Kardashian, who had endorsed the morning sickness pill. Since almost 90 percent of women go through morning sickness during early pregnancy stage and there is only a single FDA approved drug for this.

According to The Washington Post, the drug became even more popular after the media celeb, Kim K, wrote about it on her Instagram account. In August, 2015, she wrote, 'OMG. Have you guys heard about this? As you know my #morningsickness has been pretty bad.

'So I talked to my doctor. He prescribed me #Diclegis. I felt a lot better and most importantly, there was no increased risk to the baby.'

The post received several negative comments after the celeb failed to mention its side effects.  In fact, the medical association has come up with several researches and studies that show the pill might be ineffective.

As per Mail Online, Kardashian was criticized by the FDA for endorsing a medicine without disclosing and identifying the potential side effects. In the latest studies, scientists have reviewed data from the old trial and have found that the medication to be less effective. This claim was made by Dr. Navindra Persaud,  a renowned researcher and co -author of the study St. Michael's Hospital and the University of Toronto

After reviewing the numerous pages of the original study, the researchers have found that over 2300 women had participated in the actual trial that took place in over 14 clinical centers across the US. As per Dr. Persaud, they have enough evidence with them to prove if the medication at all deserved approval and whether it was at all effective.
