Money-making Capabilities Were Known To Develop While Inside Womb, Experts Suggest

Entrepreneurs and high earners acquire their money-making capabilities in the womb, a new study has claimed. Those who are born with longer ring fingers and shorter index ones are more likely to gain financial success. The ratio indicates the level of testosterone that a man was exposed to while in the womb.

However, researchers found the opposite outcome for women. Lower exposure to testosterone, which means having a smaller ratio between the index and ring fingers, indicates that women are more likely to earn big.

It's not the first time for researchers to study the ring-index finger ratio, or also known as 2D:4D ratio. However, the research conducted by Russia's Higher School of Economics is the first to link it to personal success. The study that covered around 2,000 respondents were aged 25-60. It was published in the journal of Economics and Human Biology. 

According to Daily Mail Online, a special apparatus was used to determine each of their 2D:4D ratio while asking the respondents about their income and salaries. The study leads to finding out that the lower the ratio for the women, the higher the salary. On the other hand, the study found the opposite except for men who had achieved a higher educational level.

Meanwhile, CNBC reported that the higher levels of testosterone in the womb is linked to the possibility of becoming an entrepreneur. Dr. Pankaj Patel of Villanova School of Business studied twins in the uterus to compare opposite and same-sex twins. Twin boys must share and this means that they will have lesser testosterone.

Based on Patel's study, males who were exposed to a higher level of testosterone while inside the womb are more likely to become self-employed. His study also showed how having more testosterone can be linked to jhaving a personality that loves to take more risks.
