There's no doubt that British pop singer Ellie Goulding is passionate about fitness. Her Instagram account shows fans glimpses of working out, and she is also now one of the faces of Nike.

The 28-year-old said in a Nike press release about her collaboration with the brand, "I feel quite proud to be an ambassador for women who realize that being fit is better than being skinny. I like the fact that I can be that role model. I still think there’s a little bit of work to do with promoting fit, not thin. But it’s getting there."

POPSugar also reports that during Goulding's N+TC Tour LA, she shared her fitness tips, which she felt busy people could use, as she has one hectic schedule to follow as an artist. For those who travel often like Goulding, her advice is to book a hotel with a gym, because those gyms are open round the clock. If you have no access to the gym, she recommends running, which will help you take in the scenery during your travels.

Goulding also encourages getting a workout buddy. She said: "The best way to push your limits is to find a buddy who will push you further. You work for them."

The singer also said that it's important to be aware if you're getting too much exercise. She admitted that she, too, had overdone her Pilates and yoga fitness routine.

"I sometimes beat myself up if I don’t train for few days or don’t do cardio or strength, but you need to give your body and mind a break," said Goulding. "It’s good to have that goal, but also don’t be too hard on yourself—you need the yin to the yang."

She also told Nike, "I think having a yin and yang with exercise is the important thing for me. I love to do high-intensity training, but I also love to take it easy. I say take it easy, but doing yoga is not easy. Doing something different every day keeps things fresh, exciting and interesting."

Speaking of yin and yang, Goulding said that she also tries to strike a balance between living healthy and living well. The Inquisitr reported that according to the singer, "I do make it obvious that I’m very into in fitness, but I also make it obvious that I’m into drinking with my friends and going out. I don’t ever really like to put myself on a pedestal or in an unreachable place. I love meeting people and my fans, because I like to be in touch with what my fans are into. I want them to know that I love fitness, but I also want them to know that I eat ice cream sometimes, or I eat really badly sometimes."
