Since the birth of the royal baby Princess Charlotte, everyone believed she will someday become a fashion trendsetter like her mother Kate Middleton. True enough, on the day of her christening, the princess wore a Victorian-inspired gown that made the event even more picture perfect. Unfortunately, it looks like that will be the last time the public will see her in a dress, as the Duchess of Cambridge considers onesies as the official royal dress code for now.

People Magazine writes that according to Kate Middleton's favorite children's wear designer Rachel Riley, Princess Charlotte will not be wearing any dresses until she reaches her first birthday. Riley spills that as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are a traditional family, Kate will surely want to dress her little one in baby suits. Once she starts walking, that's probably the time she'll allow the princess to wear dresses.

The designer also believes that even separates are banned until much later. The 33-year-old mother of two has been collecting onesies ever since her daughter was born, favoring classic one pieces over the trendier two-piece ensembles. Her dress code for Princess Charlotte is similar to how she has dressed Prince George during his infancy.

Although most mothers do not understand why the Duchess decided to avoid dresses for the princess, they believe Kate knows what she's doing as she knows her fashion and style well, The Examiner reports. No dresses could also mean the princess will be wearing what most babies wear, thus keeping a low fashion profile, at least until she's a year older.

Besides, Princess Charlotte will not be gracing any public events anyway, since she is too young and will probably just want to sleep all day. This could be the reason why when Kate and Prince William graced the Rugby World Cup, the children were not seen with them.

International Business Times adds that even though it might take a while before the royal baby will be fully recognized as a fashion icon like her mom, she and her big brother are already considered fashion movers due to their contribution to the British economy. According to reports, Prince George has contributed $3.6 billion while little baby Princess Charlotte has made a whopping $5 billion.

Just like the "Kate Middleton effect", every piece that the little princess has worn or used have been sold out due to public demand. Brand Finances estimated that since her birth, she has generated $150 million, starting with the GH Hurt lacy shawl she wore during her christening, which was priced at $100. If this continues, we will soon be experiencing the "Charlotte effect", probably even more potent than Kate's.
