There are three things that signal people about the impending fall season - leaves changing colors, the weather becoming cooler and the availability of the Pumpkin Spice Latte (PSL) on the Starbucks menu. Love it or hate it but the PSL has already taken over the entire pop culture, creating a legion of loyal fans from all over the globe.

However, due to its 380 caloric content with 50 grams of sugar and 14 grams of fat, the PSL can be considered as one of the worst coffee drinks in the market. This was the reason why Yahoo! Health released a video and infographic entitled “Your Body After Drinking a Pumpkin Spice Latte” to warn the public about the disadvantages of drinking this concoction.

If you want to remain healthy but likes the taste of PSL, then here is a list of the 5 drinks for fall that are extremely better and healthier than a grande Pumpkin Spice Latte.

Butternut Chai Latte

Bustle recommends that taking a sip of this delicious and soothing latte, you’ll forget about the PSL completely. This mixture of butternut squash puree, vanilla cinnamon and nutmeg with a splash of milk can take to places you’ve never been and it’s like tasting adult Halloween for the first time. Pumpkin Eggnog

Feeling a little bit nostalgic yet can’t decide which holiday you like best? Simple Most suggests mixing up a taste of fall and winter with this concoction that will remind you that as soon as autumn is over, winter will be coming next. Check out the recipe from Serious Seats here.

Mexicocoa

Tired of tasting the pumpkin and the overrated taste of fall? The Food Network suggests going back to the basics of mixing hot chocolate but with a twist of tequila and spice. Besides making your nose and toes warm, the alcohol will also remind you why you’re done with dressing up and collecting candies this year. Click here to check out the recipe.

Caramel Apple Spice

Pumpkin is not the only organic food you can add in your drink because before the PSL was born, caramel apples are what the kids love to eat. Bustle adds that as a grown-up, reminisce over your childhood by combining apples, caramel and spices in an “autumn-in-a-cup” drink. To view the recipe of Baked by Rachel, click here.

Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Finally, Simple Most adds that if you are still not over the pumpkin spice taste but would definitely want a new take on the drink, why not try to convert it to a post-workout smoothie. Get the Alkaline Sisters recipe here.
