Watch the official game play trail of "Halo 5: Guardians" and see four soldiers begin their hunt for Master Chief.

The highly anticipated single-player campaign will apparently focus on co-op gaming on the Blue Team or Fireteam Osiris squad. The trailer also gave a brief preview of the relationship between Master Chief and Commander Locke.

In an interview with Examiner, Frank O'Connor, the Franchise Development Director at 343 Industries, explained Master Chief's role in the game and his rivalry between with Locke.

"The Master Chief is central to this story and the effect he's had on individuals is in some ways just as important as the effect he's had on galactic-scale events. And the other perspective of course, is Chief's. He's been through a lot and you'll start to see how that has taken its toll," said O'Connor.

As for the relationship with Chief and Locke, O'Connor likened Locked to a hunter and Chief as the prey.

"We're definitely showing one aspect of the relationship between Chief and Locke, from the viewpoint of a hunter as he stalks his prey. However as a lot of players have already speculated, there's more to it than that in terms of both big ideas as well as nuanced perspective," O'Connor explained. "Something that I think is as interesting, if not more, are the varying perspectives of both Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris squad members."

Cinema Blend reports that with the next Halo game being currently developed, Halo 5 seems like a set up to introduce more central characters aside from Master Chief.

Additionally, the new game offers in-game transactions for players who need a little amp to play the game. The microtransactions start at @4 for REQ Packs. Speaking to GameSpot, game design director Kevin Franklin defended the payments. He adds that players who spend a lot of money in-game have no advantages over those who don't as everything is easily obtainable in the game.

"There's no crazy special items that are only going to be reserved for people who spend a lot more money," Franklin said of the microtransactions. Rewards can also be obtained from the Arena or Warzone so you'll never have to worry about running out of stuff to use.

"At the end of the day, it's a multiplayer game. It's not a spend-more-to-win game. We wanted to make sure that if you spend a whole ton of money, and you thought you could get five Scorpions just because you spent more money, it's not going to work," Franklin explained. "You're still going to have to earn the right to call these Scorpions into the battlefield."

"Halo 5: Guardians" will launch on Xbox One on Oct. 27.
