Square Enix has announced that a PC version for "Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII" will come out on December this year.

The release date was announced by Square Enix producer Kitase Yoshinori over TwitterTechno Buffalo reports that Yoshinori tweeted that the PC version of "Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII" will be on its way this December if everything is on track. According to Forbes, the PC version was meant to be released this month and the probable reason for its delay is that it will be a direct port of the game which will be optimized for the PC.

"Lightning Returns" is the third game in the trilogy and the direct sequel to FF XIII-2 and according to the International Business Times, the first two XIII games have been ported to PC and it is high time this move was done by the company because the game was originally released for PS3 and Xbox 360 last 2013.

Attack of The Fanboy claims that gameplay system for "Lightning Returns" is what sets it apart from its two predecessors that follow a traditional RPG style, since gamers play based on a "timer."

It is not yet known how much the PC version of "Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII" will cost. Game Spot reports that the first two games were priced at $15 on Steam.

In other news, the release date of "Final Fantasy XV", the next game in the franchise will reportedly be announced in March next year. The game has been highly awaited and Venture Capital Post reports that this has frustrated many of the franchise's fans. VCP reports that the Final Fantasy XV development team is busy scouting locations to bring something new to the game to make it more authentic.

"Final Fantasy XV" will center on Noctis, the heir to the throne of the Kingdom of Lucis. According to Cinema Blend, he will be joined by three more characters Gladiolous "Gladio" Amicitia, Ignis and Prompto with the first two having noble lineage. Chaos comes when Noctis learns that his father, the King and his betrotherd, Lady Lunafreya of Tenebrae may be dead and the kingdom's sacred crystal taken by the imperial army of Niflheim.

As to why Noctis and his friends wear all black, franchise game director Hajime Tabata explains that their clothing is "the official battle gear of the Kingdom of Lucis."

The clothing worn by the four main characters is the official battle gear of the Kingdom of Lucis. Noctis is a member of the royal family and the other three characters are parts of various Lucian national organisations and they are each wearing the specific battle dress relevant to their individual stations," Tabata explained in the official forum of "Final Fantasy XV."
