Purchasing items on Google Play will become easier with Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the new OS allows fingerprint authentication for purchases.

Users of the newest mobile operating system (OS) for Android will be able to fast-track online purchases on mobile devices using their fingerprints. According to Latin Post, this function is currently only available on Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X.

For folks who are into the ease of online shopping, the fingerprint feature can be activated in the Google Play store to easily authorize payments made on their banking accounts. The password option still remains for those who do not use online shopping often.

The outlet added that online purchases via biometrics can be convenient but there are security measures around it. German hackers have allegedly fooled Apple's fingerprint tech when they hacked into an Apple iPhone 5S last 2013.

Tech Times reports that any device that comes pre-installed with Android 6.0 Marshmallow should have a fingerprint reader to be able to use the newest OS' biometric feature.

To activate the fingerprint authentication feature for online shopping ease, go to Google Play, go to Settings and then click User Controls. Under that option is Fingerprint Authentication box that you must click on to activate or tick off to deactivate. If you want to activate it, click on it and input your Google password.

Aside from the fingerprint feature, Android 6.0 Marshmallow has more features that users can enjoy. USA Today reports that smart phones who have upgraded to Marshmallow can expect to have a longer battery life. The newest OS comes with a "doze" feature which puts the mobile device in "rest mode" when it is not in use. However, should an important notification emerge, it will come to life and give you alerts or messages. There is also an App Standby feature which helps minimize the battery usage of apps that are not being used.

If you have a new device, the Marshmallow can make it easier for you as well as it can easily transfer apps and info you have on your existing device to the new one. You can also back it up on to a spare one in cases of emergency or when you truly need it.

The Android 6.0 can also "suggest" apps and other information that comes with the activity you're performing on the phone via the "Now on Tap" feature. If you're looking at a certain restaurant, your device may suggest a map or the complete address of the establishment for your convenience.
