A new DLC version of the next-gen horror entitled "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood" will be exclusively released for Playstation VR.

The sequel was announced by head of Sony Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida during this week's conference at Sony's Paris Game Week. There is currently no release date for the DLC, however, Engadget reports that Yoshida "promises that the horror will be all around you once it releases."

It was revealed that the PlayStation VR-exclusive game will be an arcade-style shooter where players will be heavily immersed into the game.

According to Game Rant, players will be playing from a perspective of a character from "Until Dawn." The outlet did not mention anyone in particular but they did say that the character suffers from a mental illness. It was also revealed that the player will "ride" a rollercoaster as if in a horror theme park to shoot various familiar enemies originally from the original game.

The outlet adds that different players will have different outcomes as player choice will still play a significant role in the sequel.

The executive producer of Supermassive Games gave more information about "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood" over at the Playstation Blog.

"Until Dawn: Rush of Blood is a descent into madness, taking you on a terrifying rollercoaster ride of thrills and scares in a fast-paced, arcade-style shooter," Harris wrote. We're incredibly excited to be developing for PlayStation VR as this allows us to bring games to PS4 with a level of immersion and involvement never before experienced by players.

Harris said even if you have played the original game, the PlayStation VR will provide a new perspective for players.

"As we established compelling gameplay for VR, we were able to combine that with a journey through many familiar aspects of Blackwood Pines, but from a horrifying new perspective!"

"Rush of Blood" through VR raises the bar of horror video gaming as it deviates from the normal controller-TV screen gaming.

"Playing Until Dawn: Rush of Blood in VR is incredibly different to playing games of a similar genre in the traditional method of sitting in front of a TV screen, so we're looking forward to seeing how players react!"

"Until Dawn" executive producer Pete Samuels previously "denied" the rumors for the VR sequel after the massive hit of the original game. It was worth noting that Samuels was in fact dropping major hints during the interview with PlayStation Life.

"PlayStation VR cropped up in conversation a few times during development but no, we don't expect that there'll be an edition of the Until Dawn story to be playable in VR anytime soon," said Samuels. "Not unless somebody has a sudden rush of blood!"

It is unknown if there may be more content beyond the main on-rails action. "Until Dawn: Rush of Blood" will be exclusively released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation VR sometime in 2016.
