Apple has just launched an app that can control Beats Pill and its speakers for both iOS and Android users.

The new Beats Pill+ app can download software updates, link several speakers together, check power levels, adjust sound levels and more, Mac Rumors reports. The website adds that this is the first app by Apple that has been simulateneously released on iOS and Android. It's also the second Android App after Move to iOS app that was released this year.

Here's a breakdown of how the app works, taken from the Google Play store.

"Download the Beats Pill+ app to unlock features that put you and your friends at the center of your music like never before. Developed exclusively for the Beats Pill+, now you can control your speaker in multiple ways straight from the app. Bring a second Beats Pill+ speaker into the mix for even more innovative ways to play."

"PLAY AND SHARE

Just turn your Pill+ speaker on and look for the pulsing 'b'. Then, go to your Bluetooth® menu, select your speaker, and start playing with the different modes.

DJ - Grab a friend and control the music from two Bluetooth® sources.

Amplify - Add a second Beats Pill+ into the mix and simultaneously play from both for a sound that's twice as full.

Stereo - Use two Beats Pill+ speakers as left and right output for an even more dynamic sound experience."

Digit reports that the Beats Pill+ app did not resolve any issues that Android users are miffed about on Apple and its devices. This sparked one-star reviews and troll comments from faithful Android users.

Some of the reviews were downright funny as they perceived the app to be used medically.

Here are some examples:

From Pat Worster who gave the app a 1-star: "Incorrectly advertised Downloaded this app expecting it to be a cloud-based prescription medication reminder. Instead it's some Google play music knockoff. Uninstalled, don't know what the developer was thinking when they made this.

Here is another from Sachin Thakkar, who also gave it only a star: "Did not cure my flu like symptoms. What kind of a pill is this?"

However, there were some who gave the app a 5-star rating and even said that it is "pretty well done" as an app and "isn't a lame attempt to get people to move to iOS."

The Beats Pill+ app for iOS and Android is available at the App Store and Google Play for free.
