The popular shooter game "Titanfall" by Respawn is reportedly coming to smartphones for both Android and iOS users.

"Titanfall" is a sci-fi shooter by Respawn Entertainment and it will be having a mobile version soon to be launched worldwide in 2016.

According to International Business Times, Respawn Entertainment and partner Nexon has collaborated with Particle City for the development of "Titanfall" mobile version.

"Our partnership with Nexon is momentous for many reasons," said Vince Zampella, CEO and co-founder of Respawn, via Digital Trends. "Nexon's unrivaled publishing network and free-to-play expertise will allow Titanfall to reach new global audiences. And with Particle City, Åwe are closely collaborating to create all-new standalone games with original gameplay experiences that expand the Titanfall universe to players everywhere."

"This comes at the heels of a relationship that we formed with Respawn and Electronic Arts to bring Titanfall console to Asia," said Owen Mahoney, the CEO of Nexon, via Venture Beat. "We are expanding that and extending the approach with it to mobile."

The outlet said that the gameplay of the upcoming game will be new.

"I don't know if this is the way of the future, as it is obviously here now," said Respawn CEP Vince Zampella. "Mobile devices are connected and accessible. That's the big thing, the accessibility. I have been looking at it for a while, and I want to make the right move with the right partners."

Nexon's deal with Respawn is part of the company's plan to expand to the West, the outlet adds. Nexon is also making a free-to-play online PC game in the "Titanfall" series and that it might launch in 2016 as well.

Zampella stated that there will be some new things that gamers can expect from "Titanfall" next year. Their partnership with Nexon will enable them to fully utilize the extensive universe that the studio has created.

"Respawn and Particle City view games the same way we do, and they take the art of game making very seriously," said Mahoney. "They see the opportunity to take one of our favorite games of all time and bring it to a new platform. Sadly, the view that games are an art form is pretty unique in the industry. Other game companies think short-term in a business first way. We like to start with the game. That starts with Vince. We have learned how to do online, mobile, and Asian games over the decades."

Gamespot reports that "Titanfall 2" is currently in the works. The new game will be released on many platforms in 2016.
