It looks like fans of the show will be at the edge of their seats until May next year when the "Game of Thrones" season 6 may premiere instead of its usual yearly slot of March to April.

According to Huffington Post, HBO announced that three of their new shows may start on Feb and not end until April 24 which means that the fantasy series may be pushed back until May. "Vinyl," an all-new show directed by Martin Scorses will debut on Feb. 14 and end on April 17, while returning shows "Girls" and "Togetherness" will be shown on Feb. 21 and end on April 24.

The outlet added that "Vinyl" will be taking the usual time slot of "Game of Thrones" which is every Sunday at 9 pm. Furthermore, the last season of the show was grouped together with "Silicon Valley" and "Veep" which further proves that season 6 might not start before May 1.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the delay may be great news for book readers and fans of George R.R. Martin's book series, "A Song of Ice and Fire" for which the show is based on. The show has already progressed until the end of the fifth book, "A Dance with Dragons" which may imply that the sixth book "Winds of Winter" may be coming very soon. It may even be before the premiere of the show's 6th season.

However, it was mentioned that show creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff were granted the permission to be the first ones to conclude the Song of Ice and Fire series through the HBO show, Vanity Fair reports.

In the last episode of season 5, many fans have been heartbroken as they saw Jon Snow being stabbed by his companions and left seemingly for dead. There have been many rumors floating around that Jon Snow may not stay dead or won't die at all. According to the report by Den of Geek, Kit Harrington, the actor who plays the bastard of Winterfell, has been spotted in the set photos of the show indicating that he will be back in season 6. What's more, he has been photographed growing out his hair and was spotted in Belfast during the beginning production of the latest season.

The last season ended with a thrilling cliffhanger. Fans of the books and of the show, what do you think? Is Jon Snow dead or alive? Post your theories and comments below!
