Naturally, the two biggest names in today's consumer electronics industry, Apple and Samsung, would be banking on their respective flagship smartphones and stake their reputation for the phones' topnotch caliber in terms of their design and performance.

So, what better way to pit the two rivals against each other than to compare two of their premium smartphone models--- the Apple iPhone6s Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The two are some of the bigger phones in the market today when it comes to the screen size, and both considered as awesome choices for your "phablet" options. Let's check out the comparison.

Design and Specs

The Galaxy Note 5 is dubbed as the "best-looking Note phone Samsung has ever made" in this Business Insider article. Samsung has made an upgrade from its Note 4 design which has more rigid edges and its faux leather back to a more sleek-looking design composed of curved glass and polished metal edges, resembling the Galaxy S6. The iPhone6s Plus, on the other hand, is made of 7000 Series aluminum, the strongest alloy ever used in an iPhone, so far. It is also now available in rose gold finish.

Both phones are incredibly slim and lightweight. The Note 5, however, has a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED Quad HD with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 as compared to iPhone's 5.5 inches of LED-backlit IPS LCD display. The Note 5 has a bit bigger screen, even though, the pair has almost the same dimensions. The Samsung phone has a weight of 171 grams, while the iPhone weighs a bit heavier at 192 grams.

Performance

In terms of the OS inside the two phones, the iPhone 6S Plus has got iOS 9 while the Note 5 runs with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. iPhone has an A9 Chip processor and has 2 GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy Note 5, meanwhile, sports an Exynos 7420 Chipset coupled with a more generous 4GB of RAM.

Based on some tests conducted by the team behind Tom's Guide, they found out that the iPhone offered faster performance across a wide range of tests such as the Geekbench 3 synthetic benchmark, the 3DMark IceStorm Extreme test, and some series of improvised, in-house testing.

Upgrades and Features

Some of the special features that the iPhone 6s Plus has the 3D Touch and Live Photos, while the Note 5 still boast of its newly-improved S pen. The Samsung phone also has the Multi Window feature and wireless charging, which is not available in iPhone 6s Plus.

Now, which one do you think is the better choice. Let us know in the poll below.
