Both were launched on the same month and either mobile devices were built with a 5.5 inch display. And most certainly, we get the idea they were pretty much designed and launched to compete from one another for the same portion of the market. So, how does the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium and the Apple iPhone 6S Plus, two of the more popular and premium variants of the flagship smartphones today, stack up against each other in terms of specs, features and value for money? We give you the rundown and then you decide for yourself.

Key Specs

The two devices comes with a 5.50-inch touchsceen display, but the Sony Z5 Premium has better resolution of 2160 pixels by 3840 pixels with a pixel density of 806 pixels per inch, compared to Apple iPhone 6S Plus' 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels with a pixel density of 401 pixels per inch. The latter has full HD Retina display, while the former boasts of having the world's first ever 4K display in smartphones.

The Z5 Premium camera is one of the Xperia lineup's selling feature with a 23-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front camera. The iPhone 6s Plus, on the other hand, has a 12-megapixel primary camera, also comes with a flash, and a secondary front camera with 5 megapixel.

The Apple smartphone has a single slot for a Nano-SIM. Its connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India),The Z5 Premium, meanwhile, has dual sim for a couple of Nano-SIMs. It has connectivity options of Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, FM, 3G, 4G (with support for Band 40 used by some LTE networks in India). In terms of dimensions, the 6S Plus is 158.2 mm in height, 77.9 mm in width, 7.3 mm in thickness and weighs 192.00 grams, while the Z5 Premium measures 154.4 mm long, 76 mm wide, 7.8 mm thick and weighs 180.00 grams.

Performance and Price

The Apple iPhone 6s Plus features an A9 chipset with a 64-bit architecture and comes with 2GB of RAM, FirstPost wrote. It has 16GB of internal storage that cannot be expanded and a 2750mAh non removable battery. For the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Dual, it runs an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM, says GSM Arena. It has 32GB of internal storage, expandable up to 200GB via a microSD card, and is powered by a 3430mAh non removable battery.

The price for an entry level iPhone 6s Plus is around $750, while the Z5 Premium pricing has yet to be released by Sony.
