HTC One A9 release date, price, specs & update: now available in Sprint, AT&T stores

The HTC fans can finally take a closer look or even get their hands on the latest flagship mobile device as the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer announces the release of HTC One A9 in AT&T and Sprint retail stores nationwide starting Nov. 6, 2015. Prior to this, AT&T has only been accepting online pre-orders since Nov. 2.

"With the launch of the HTC One A9, we made sure that we're not only delivering the most beautiful phone -- super lightweight, all metal, rich colors with a dual-finish that feels amazing in your hand -- but also a powerful product that is simple, uncomplicated and easy to use," said Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC America in a press release.

Price and Update

HTC offered their latest smartphone at an initial early bird promo of $399 for those who will avail of the phone until Nov. 7 only. From then on, the standard price will be pegged at $499 from HTC.com. AT&T and will sell the device for $520 straight cash, while Sprint has it at a more expensive deal of around $700 for outright buyers, GottaBeMobile wrote. Both carriers will also offer the One A9 in monthly installment plans.

Specs and Features

The HTC One A9 runs the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense and packs a lot of power with an octa-core processor of Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 and a 64-bit architecture. It has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB internal storage with MicroSD card slot that allows extended memory of up to 2 TB, according to HTC.com. A more budget-friendly variant is also available that comes with a configuration of 16 GB memory and 2 GB of RAM.

The phone has a 5-inch Full HD high-contrast AMOLED display protected by its 2.5D edge-to-edge, highly polished Gorilla Glass. The device has a dimension of 145.75 mm in height, 70.8 mm in width, 7.26 mm thick and weighs 143 grams.

The new Android device also has a 2,150 mAh of battery capacity, which is capable of up to 12 hours of HD video playback, 60 hours of music, Wi-Fi Internet usage for up to 9 hours, 16 hours of call time and a standby time of up to 18 days on 3G network. It also comes with Quick Charge 2.0 support that allows as much as 75 percent faster charging.

The new HTC smartphone has 13 MP rear-facing camera with built-in OIS (optical image stabilization) that also comes with software and editing tools. The camera has both automatic and manual modes to choose from, which works for beginners or the more experienced users alike. The front camera, on the one hand, has HTC's UltraPixel technology that allows for more light captured of up to 300 percent compared to other smartphones.
