Campbell soup recall 2015: 350K cans of SpaghettiOs pose choking hazard

It is very important for us to make sure that our food are healthy, clean and safe. Food are substances we consume on a daily basis. Thus, we really need to be meticulous about it.

The Campbell Soup Company made sure that they will prevent possible choking hazard cases by pulling out thousands of cans of its SpaghettiOs Original.

The company decided to recall the cans after receiving a few consumer complaints, noted International Business Times.

To be specific, the company is voluntarily recalling 142-ounce cans of SpaghettiOs Original dated February 22, 2017. The cans come with a UPC code of 51000 22432. You can find the UPC code under the can's barcode.

A total of 355,000 cans are being recalled as of now. It is not a guarantee that all of these cans have the problem. However, since they are from the same batch, then they have to be pulled out to be safe. The cans are suspected to contain pieces of red plastic that might be a choking hazard.

The red plastic that can be found in a small number of SpaghettiOs Original comes from the can lining. It is a part that can easily be peeled off.

This case is only isolated in the United States. Therefore, the ones that were imported to other countries are safe to eat and are not being recalled. If you are a fan of SpaghettiOs Original and not based in the US, then there is no need for you to worry.

On the other hand, if you have bought a can of this product in the US, you better check the date and the UPC code. If the date and the UPC code is the aforementioned, then you are advised not to consume it and to immediately return it to the store where it was bought. There is nothing to worry as you can get an exchange or even a full refund for it.
