Gayle King, CBS news anchor and magazine editor dropped 14 pounds after taking the Weight Watchers diet in just 2 months.

King who is popularly known as Oprah Winfrey's BFF has been very vocal about her weight loss journey. Since Sept. 2015, she has been chronicling her progress on her Instagram page.

"As Beyonce says I woke up like this I woke up like this 14 pounds lighter we'll actually 14&half pounds lighter but who's counting ... Okay me ! Started @weightwatchers sept 12th ...." she wrote on a photo of her feet on a weighing scale which showed a comparison of her 170 pounds reading to her original 184.5 pounds. According to the Weight Watchers website, the diet revolves around a point system where dieters can eat anything "as long as it fits within the daily target." The "point budget" is based on the dieter's body statistics which also accounts for age and gender, to which males get higher daily targets because of muscle mass difference. In the two months that King tried out the diet, she seemed to have an off week as lost only a bit of weight despite not cheating.

"So bummed only lost HALF A POUND with NO cheating on @weightwatchers ... Sticking with it tho... Also bummed smudged new pedicure after letting them dry so well aware toes jacked up going back to salon today.. Hate when that happens...." she wrote in an earlier post she made on her Instagram.

Meanwhile, her BFF Oprah managed to lose 15 lbs since August 12. According to Daily Mail, the TV personality made the announcement at the Ellen DeGeneres Show.

According to USA Today, the media mogul bought 10 percent of Weight Watchers stock which prompted an increase by more than a hundred percent in the company's decreasing stock price. Oprah tweeted that she believed in the program so well that in addition to investing in it, she is to join its board as well.

Winfrey reportedly brought her shares at a total of $43.2 million which is $6.79 a piece. She hopes to acquire another 5% stake in the future.

"Weight Watchers has given me the tools to begin to make the lasting shift that I and so many of us who are struggling with weight have longed for," Winfrey said, as reported by the outlet "I believe in the program so much I decided to invest in the company and partner in its evolution."
