Jack3d pre workout supplements unsafe for use; USPlabs faces criminal charges

Workout supplements are very popular these days. However, not all of those being sold in the market are guaranteed to be safe and effective.

Reuters reported that the US Justice Department made an announcement on Tuesday they will file criminal charges against USPlabs LLC and six of their company officials. It is because of their activities of unlawful sale of Jack3d, one of the leading preworkout supplements today, and other supplements.

According to the Justice Department, the charges faced by USPlabs and its executives now are just a part of their larger plan to totally put an end to the unlawful sale of unproven and potentially hazardous supplements.

The reason why USPlabs LLC has been filed with criminal charges is because they deceived their retailers and consumers by saying that their products were made from plant extracts when in fact, these were manufactured from a synthetic stimulant made in China.

Before the US Justice Department filed cases against the USPlabs and its officials, the Daily Mail already reported that the country of United Kingdom has already banned the sale and use of Jack3d, despite being the most popular supplement in the country back then, since the year 2012.

The decision was made out of their fear that the supplement might bring lethal effects to its users. Jack3d contains DMAA (dimethylamylamine.) It is a certain kind of stimulant that has been associated with stroke, vomiting, headache, increased blood pressure and worse, death.

UK's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency has hailed Jack3d as unlicensed. Aside from Jack3d, they also banned other products that contain the DMAA.

Now, it is US' turn to start turning their back against Jack3d and other potentially hazardous supplements, including OxyElite, which is also a product of USPlabs.

Benjamin Mizer, a Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General, said that a lot of people in the US, from the east coast to west coast, are buying and consuming different kinds of liquids, pills and powders without knowing if these are really effective or if these are dangerous for a person's health. Most of these supplement consumers end up harming themselves instead of improving their condition.

Mizer also pointed out that the distributors have something to do with this situation as many of them makes false claims and promises.

A total of six officials from USPlabs and S.K. Laboratories are now facing criminal charges. The Justice Department anticipates that the two of these executives are going to surrender. On the other hand, four of them have already been arrested.
