When the "Grand Theft Auto V" was released back in September 2013, its distributor Take-Two Interactive announced that the game raked in a record-shattering sales of $800 million in its first day alone and a total of $1 billion in its first three days.

The enormous reception from the fans of this open world and action-adventure/crime role playing game from the uber-popular GTA series has paved the way for GTA V to break every major record sales as it was selling like hot cakes at that time and beating out any game or other pieces of entertainment ever purchased, according to a 2013 article from The Verge.

The hype may have died down a bit, and that is considering it was already well past two years after its first release and most gamers were through playing with their copies, but it does not mean the game has lost its appeal. In fact, a lot of gamers were already in anticipation of the next installment from the franchise.

Unfortunately, the highly-awaited release of "Grand Theft Auto VI" may not come sooner than expected. Rumor has it that the launch could be in 2019, which could make for around four years of torturous waiting for the fans, wrote Tech Times.

Although, nothing is cast in stone yet, it could very well be that the 2019 release date is a safe bet judging from the time window the game developer and publisher, Rockstar, has always taken before launching succeeding installments in the series, which usually takes about five years.

One of the interesting new angles of the game that fans should look forward to is the possible inclusion of a female character to join the trio of beloved goons Michael De Santa, Trevor Philips and Franklin Clinton. Rockstar Games Co-founder and Vice President Dan Houser has already hinted of the possibility during one of his interviews back in 2013.

"In the future, could we do a game with a lead female character? Of course. We just haven't found the right game for it yet, but it's one of the things that we always think about," he told The Guardian. "It didn't feel natural for this game [GTA V] but definitely for the right game in the future - with the right themes, it could be fantastic."

One of the names that popped up in the rumor mill is Eva Mendes, which could play the role of this new female character. How about you guys, who do you think fits the new role? Let us know in the comment section.
