HBO revealed the first poster for "Game of Thrones" season 6. It is Jon Snow and he looks bloodied. Is it foreshadowing rumors that Jon Snow may be alive after all?

In last season's episode finale, we saw how Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was seemingly betrayed and left for dead by his "sworn brothers" from the Night's Watch. However, Jon Snow graced the poster for season 6 which was released this week.

The poster shows the lower half of Snow's face with parts of it drenched in blood with the word "April." This confirms that the show will be aired in April next year instead of May which was previously believed. It was released in the show's official social media accounts including its Facebook page and Twitter.

With the poster, the rumor mill is churning and fans are speculating about the fate of Snow as neither book readers nor show watchers know what the next season will hold. Season 5 was all about the second-half of George R.R. Martin's fifth book "A Dance With Dragons."

Either way, it still does not give a clue as to whether Jon Snow is dead or alive. According to Game Zone, there is a popular theory that Jon Snow may have really died but will be reincarnated by Melisandre (Carice van Houten) as Azor Ahai as the red priestess was seen coming to the castle after leaving the entourage of Stannis Baratheon.

Snow's actor, Harington, himself was asked if his character is alive. He told E! Online: "I've been told I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm not coming back next season."

This was seconded by his co-star Maisie Williams who plays Arya Stark. During a breakfast show, Williams said: "All the time people are asking me if Jon Snow is alive and the answer is no! He's dead! I promise."

However, this was in conflict when Harington was seen on the "Game of Thrones" set in Belfast in September this year. Daily Mail reports that Snow wasn't in his Lord Commander garb but instead in simple clothes with his sword as he was being filmed in North Ireland. It was also reported that Lady Melisandre (van Houten) was nearby during the filming.

What do you think? Did Jon Snow die and become resurrected by Lady Melisandre? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
