HBO has released the first "Game of Thrones" season 6 trailer and it is narrated by the Three-Eyed Raven. Watch the traumatic montage trailer here.

The teaser starts with the narration by Max Von Sydow who provides the words by the Three-Eyed Raven: "We watch, we listen, and we remember." The video showed an image of Jon Snow from last season.

"The past is already written," he says. "The ink is dry."

After Snow's image is a montage of traumatic events from the past including the infamous Red Wedding, Daenerys and her dragon Drogon, Ed Stark's beheading, the White Walkers and of Jon Snow lying in a pool of his own blood in the snow.

Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright), Snow's half-brother is then shown.

This signals the return of the younger Stark after being absent last season. Book readers and fans of the show know that season 5 events coincided with the fifth book by George R.R. Martin called "A Dance with Dragons." Most of the major characters in the show have more or less caught up to their respective events in the book, except for Bran.

"They have no idea what is going to happen," Bran says.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Bran's chapter in the fifth book involves "skinchanging" and "warging." These are abilities that allow Bran to enter another's body and control it. It was in season 4 that Bran and his group including Hodor (Kristian Nairn) and Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick) reached the tree where the Three-Eyed Raven resides.

Nearly most of the second half of season 5 was focused on the White Walkers and according to CNET, it seems that season 6 might contain epic battles against them.

When season 5 ended, fans from around the world were in confusion as tht last frame showed Jon Snow seemingly left for dead by his sworn brothers. A lot of fans have speculated whether the Lord Commander is really dead or is alive. Possible-sounding and far-fetched theories have riddled forums about the show of how Snow can be brought back alive with one of them either by the Red Witch Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) or possibly by Bran's powers.

For someone who is implied to dead, the promotional materials for the show seem to say that Snow is alive. We'll let you decide.

"Game of Thrones" season 6 will be televised on April.
