The German automaker has one thing less to worry about when it comes to the current emission scandals that it is dealing with in the recent past as self-testing on the carbon dioxide figures of about 800,000 of its vehicles brought back a favorable result, according to a report from CNET.

The Volkswagen group announced in a press release that there was no unlawful change found to the stated fuel consumption and CO2 figures of the vehicles under suspicion and that only a small number of the model variants of new cars will have the catalogue figure slightly adjusted.

The company decided to conduct an extensive internal investigations and measurement checks when the CO2 figures measured on some of its vehicle models were called into question.

"It is now clear that almost all of these model variants do correspond to the CO2 figures originally determined. This means that these vehicles can be marketed and sold without any limitations," Volkswagen wrote on Dec. 9, 2015. "The suspicion that the fuel consumption figures of current production vehicles had been unlawfully changed was not confirmed. During internal remeasurements, slight deviations were found on just nine model variants of the Volkswagen brand."

Meanwhile, the Volkswagen Jetta is trying to live up to the distinction of being the German automaker's best-selling car in America with its 2016 model. Some of the basic specs include a 1.4-liter turbo four cylinder engine capable of delivering 150 HP and 184 lb.-ft. torque, six-speed automatic transmission and an EPA mileage of 28 MPG/city and 40 MPG/highway. As for pricing and release date, the new Jetta now comes available at a base price of $18,780, according to SiouxCityJournal. And, here are the 5 reasons to buy the 2016 Volkswagen Jetta.

1.The new 1.4-liter turbocharged, direct-injection engine provides better highway fuel economy by more than 15 percent over its predecessor, the 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine in the S model and the 1.8T in the SE and SE with Connectivity.

2. When it comes to tech features, the 2016 Jetta is equipped with a new infotainment system featuring an industry's first of its kind connectivity support on all three available connected car systems, the Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink.

3. In comparison to the 2016 Toyota Corolla in terms of the base engine specs, the Jetta delivers more power with 150 HP and 184 lb.-ft. of torque compared to 132 HP and 128 lb.-ft. of torque; and better highway fuel economy, 40MPG vs 37MPG; according to Douglas Volkswagen, a dealership in Union County, New Jersey.

4. And against the 2016 Honda Civic, the Jetta wins in the base engine torque battle, 184 lb.-ft. vs 138 lb.-ft. The Volkswagen car also offers better rear seat legroom and provides a touchscreen display as a standard feature, while it is only an option for the Honda car.

5. Volkswagen offers great financial deals for the new Jetta like a low-rate financing for as low as 1.9 percent in 60 months and a zero-down, 36-month leasing deal, according to NY DailyNews.
