For the past few months, the stocks of GoPro has plumped down with the American action camera manufacturer experiencing as much as 45 percent dip. But, signs of life have suddenly sprung up with rumors regarding a potential acquisition from Apple.

According to Market Watch, the shares of GoPro spiked 16 percent on Thursday following a statement from FBR & Co. analyst Dan Ives that it would make a perfect sense for Apple to acquire GoPro.

"We believe GoPro would fit like a glove into the Apple product portfolio," Ives told Market Watch in an email. He explained that it could help in Apple's goal of building up on their software ecosystem particularly in this time when there is saturation in the smartphone market around the world.

And, this was not the first time an analyst flirted with the idea of acquisition involving the two tech companies. Just several weeks ago, Gus Richard, an analyst for Northland Capital, said that GoPro is a "compelling acquisition target" for Apple in terms of hardware, software and content perspective.

Meanwhile, GoPro announced in its website that its new quadcopter drone will have a release date some time in 2016. The upcoming drone will be referred to as Karma as shown in a YouTube video published by GoPro. As for specs, the company has yet to reveal any more details on the Karma, not even a glimpse of what it would look like, so we just have to wait for more updates.

The voiceover from the video made an allusion to the power that the Karma drone can offer to the owners. "Take a moment to look around you. Take a moment to recognize the magic that surrounds us every day," the voice on the video said. "The sky, clouds, wind through the trees, ocean waves, snow, rain, the sun rising, the sun setting. All of this, a dream. Life is a dream.

"Now what if you could move freely through this dream, your dream?" it went on. "Go wherever you want, experience it from any perspective. What if you could fly? That would be magic."

One of the features that can be expected from the Karma would be its built-in stabilization system, PC Mag noted. The company will also be giving away some of these Karma drones for 100 lucky individuals. All you have to do is get the latest news about the Karma drone by signing up with your e-mail.
