Square Enix has released the highly awaited trailer for "Kingdom Hearts 3" during the D23 Expo in Japan. Watch it below:

In the six-second long footage shown at the D23 convention, we see Mickey with a keyblade and Sora, Donald and Goofy taking off in a vehicle resembling Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin. It is also rumored that "Kingdom Hearts 3" will include the Toy Story Kingdom.

For the plot, Master Herald reports that the game is rumored to center around the ancient keyblade masters of the past. Mickey and Riku might have their hands full as they will have to locate items that can battle darkness. The main villain will be Xenahort and as expected of antagonists, he will be playing a big role in the highly awaited sequel as KH3 is also the final installment of the series. The game will also include the story of how the man's keyblade came to be.

Daybreak Town will also be integrated in the new game. It looks similar to Radiant Garden and Traverse Town and is a hub for players of the mobile game "Kingdom Hearts X." According to MH, the gameplay for "Kingdom Hearts 3" will be similar to "Kingdom Hearts X." It is the prequel of the entire game series and its timeline starts before the Keyblade War.

Despite the released footage, the game has fallen out of the top 10 rankings by Famitsu gamers. According to Gaming Bolt, KH3 has fallen at the 11th. There is no way to know why the game has dropped some of its popularity, the website says that it could be because it is taking too long to come or because there are other games more worth talking about such as "Final Fantasy 15," which is one of the most anticipated games.

"Kingdom Hearts 3" is coming to PS4, PC and Xbox One. There are rumors that it might be released in 2016. According to Latinos Post, Amazon has posted a list of video games that might launch in December 2015 which means that if players can pre-order this month, there is a possibility of a 2016 release date. However, Square Enix has neither confirmed nor denied the rumors.

The Amazon pre-order listing added a product description that states that it will feature a grown-up Sora.

"Kingdom Hearts III is the third installment in the beloved RPG series and features a mature Sora who sets forth on an adventure with Mickey, Donald and Goofy through new and legendary Disney worlds," the listing stated.
