The first official trailer for "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" has been released! "Harry Potter" fans can expect this movie to be more magical as the spinoff film takes us once again back to The Wizarding World. Watch it below:

In the trailer, we are once again transported back to the magical world but this time, it's in America. We see Newt Scamander (played by Eddie Redmayne), a magizoologist and author of a Hogwarts textbook of the same name as the movie, explore New York City. We learn from a witch named Porpentina Goldenstein (played by Katherine Waterston) that some of the beasts or magical creatures from the suitcase have escaped. We also have a brief glimpse of Colin Farrell's character, Graves.

As for the plot of the movie, famed magizoologist Scamander stops over in New York after traveling the world to find and document magical beasts. Chaos and misadventure ensue when Jacob, a No-Maj ( the American term for Muggle, non-magical folks) misplaces Scamander's magical suitcase which lead to the escape of the beasts in the non-magical world which could lead to dire consequences for the wizarding world.

While fans of the original franchise are excited, they will be disappointed to know that there will be no cameos of characters from the first one despite existing in the same universe. It is a spinoff and neither a prequel or a sequel. "Fantastic Beasts" takes place in the 1920s, way before the start of the "Harry Potter" timeline.

ABC News reports that J.K. Rowling, book author and screenwriter for the movie was delighted that the trailer was so well-received by fans.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" also stars Ezra Miller as Credence, Samantha Morton as Mary Lou, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Jenn Murray as Chastity, Peter Breitmayer as Gilbert Bingley and Carmen Ejogo as Seraphina. According to Coming Soon, the film is directed by David Yates, produced by "Harry Potter" veteran producer David Heyman with script by Rowling, Steve Kloves, and Lionel Wigram.

Warner Bros. Pictures is planning to release "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" on IMAX and 3D worldwide on Nov. 18, 2016. The film is released five years after the final film of the Potter franchise "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part Two." CEO Kevin Tsujihara of Warner Bros. plans for the book to become a trilogy with the sequels coming in 2018 and 2020, Hypable reports.
