Developers are making it easier for consumers to customize and personalize their own smartwatches. Here are a few apps that require no skills in coding to use.

Android Wear Faces Creator

For beginners, Gizmodo recommends this easy-to-use app. Simply select an image for the dial and the watch's three hands.

You can edit the images in terms of their size and position before sending to your watch. Users can also choose to use a digital clock as the design for the smartwatch's face.

Muzei Live Wallpaper

This is the smartwatch designed for art lovers. Android Authority says this free app offers a wide variety of classic art with the option of customizing the look before applying as the face of your smartwatch.

StarWatch

Do you love watching the night sky? For just under $1, you can have your favorite Android-powered smartwatch display the stars right above your head.

The Android app website says this application uses a star map which updates itself, allowing you to see what stars and constellations are there, regardless of where you are or the time of the year.

Bits Watch Face

Bored with the usual watch face designs? Add more functionality with the Bits Watch Face App.

A few taps on the screen and you can customize the look of your smartwatch to include the battery level, date, calendar, the number of steps you have taken, weather and your time zone. Download this app from the Google Play Store and you can also find out how your stocks are doing, alert you of missed calls or if you have received any new emails.

The app also comes with a number of free faces to change the look of your smartwatch to suit your personality or style.

Facer

For just a dollar, you can design your own face watch face from scratch or choose from a wide variety of available templates. Mix and match images, shapes and even text to create your own unique design.

Gizmodo says using this app requires a lot more tinkering than the Android Wear Faces Creator App but in return, you can also create more creative and complex designs.

WatchMaker

Similar to the Facer app, the WatchMaker allows users to create their own smartwatch faces by uploading a design or selecting from a wide range of available templates. Try out the app's basic features for free or pay $2.99 to get the importing images feature.
