Do you own a Hyundai vehicle? If so, then, you are one of the fortunate owners who have had fewer trips to the repair shops according to the annual Vehicle Health Index Manufacturer & Vehicle Reliability Rankings survey from CarMD.com Corporation, which is a leading provider of car repair data and solutions.

Hyundai tops this year's list of most reliable car brands besting other automakers, such as Toyota and Honda, which both comes in at the second and third spots, respectively. And, apart from a very low repair frequency, those who made the list for 2015 also offers a lower than average repair cost, according to CarMD.

"Unlike other industry reports and rankings that rely on subjective survey data, CarMD's Index is the only annual ranking that bases its findings on actual in-use vehicle failures and associated car repair costs," said Ieon C. Chen, CEO of CarMD. "Car maintenance and repairs are a fact of life, but this data can be used in tandem with other tools and information to help car shoppers make informed decisions about the vehicles they are considering."

The South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer came out as the number one ranked brand with an average repair cost, including parts and labor, of just $316.16 and a .63 overall index rating, wherein the lower the number means the higher reliability ranking. Apart from the three aforementioned car brands, also making the list are Ford at no. 4, Chrysler at no. 5, Kia at no. 6, General Motors at no. 7, Mazda at no. 8, Nissan no. 9 and Volkswagen at the last spot. BMW, meanwhile, comes next to Volkswagen, but did not make it for 2015, wrote The Auto Channel.

Meanwhile, when it comes to individual vehicles, the 2015 Toyota Corolla ranked as the most reliable overall. Other winners in terms of reliability included the 2013 Lexus ES, 2014 Toyota Prius, 2013 Toyota Avalon and 2013 Honda Fit.

"Toyota has the most vehicles on the top 100 list with 18 overall comprised of six cars, six hybrids, four SUVs and two trucks. This marks the first year that any electric vehicle made CarMD's list of 100 most reliable vehicles," wrote CarMD in a press release.

But, while Hyundai makes it the biggest this year in the reliability ranking, those vehicles made by Ford were the cheapest to repair, with an average cost of $309.55, Yahoo reported. On the other end of the spectrum, Nissan vehicles were ranked as the most expensive with an average repair cost of $430.83.
