Risks and accidents are part of the job of a stunt double. However, for a British stunt woman who worked on the set of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter," her work will literally cost her an arm.

Olivia Jackson, 34, a stunt woman from Buckinghamshire in England suffered serious injuries following a high-speed motorcycle crash last September, per ITV. She had been filming on location in South Africa for latest installment of "Resident Evil."

Jackson slammed into a metal camera arm that allegedly malfunctioned. The device failed to raise when she was closing in. She slammed into this, resulting in serious head injuries, scarring on the face and a punctured lung.

Because of her injuries, the stunt double spent weeks in a medically-induced coma after the accident. However, when she was finally woke up, she learned her medical troubles are far from over.

"My left arm is paralyzed and is going to have to be amputated," Jackson said via The Sun. "My facial scarring is horrible and I wish I had my old face. But I'm truly grateful to be alive."

Jackson described her condition back in October in a Facebook post meant for her friends, per Yahoo! "2 weeks in a coma, brain bleed, brain swelling, severed main artery in the neck, crushed & degloved face, several broken ribs, paralyzed arm, shattered scapula, broken clavicle, broken humerus, broken radius & ulna, with an open wound and a 7.5 piece of bone missing, amputated thumb, torn fingers, 5 nerves torn out of the spinal cord.... not my funnest day on set."

ITV also reported that Jackson's husband and fellow stunt double David Grant said his wife is "fighting hard" and has been "making steady progress" thanks to the well-wishes of those close to the couple.

The production outfit for "Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" already addressed Jackson's case and the star of the movie, Milla Jovovich, threw her support for her stunt double. "All of us here have been praying every single day for her and her family and sending our thoughts out hoping some of the positive energy reaches her, because she truly needs it," Jovovich said, per Yahoo!

Per Twitch Film, Jackson's accident is not the only one to occur on the set of "Resident Evil," as another crew member allegedly fell to his death. The report remains unconfirmed.

Jackson also worked on the set of "Mad Max: Fury Road," "Guardians of The Galaxy" and "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
