The Apple Watch 2 will be cheaper than the first generation smartwatch and it has been designed to focus more on its fitness capabilities, according to rumors.

According to News, Apple might release the second-gen smartwatch in the first three months of 2016. The company is expected to have an event in March to introduce their new products. It is rumored that the Apple Watch 2, iPad Air 3 and a smaller iPhone 6C might be unveiled during the event.

Additionally, the outlet adds that the second-gen smartwatch will be built to cater to fitness more. The device will reportedly have the same shape but installed with a better battery. Fans are also expecting a FaceTime camera to be included as well.

A poll over at 9To5Mac from over 13,000 Apple users say that the top three new features they want are new health sensors, sleep tracking and Wi-Fi. Fans also listed in the site's comment section the features they want added that are not listed in the options of the poll. Some want a faster CPU and a better OS to offset the slowness of the device. Some want it to be bigger and some want it to have GPS and 3G.

Christian Today reports that the new Apple Watch might also come out with "iPhone-independent features" to improve its wearability and connectivity. It might also have designer accessories and smart armbands as well.

Apple launched the Watch OS2, the smartwatch's operating system in 2015 and the update gives a few hints to the specs of the Apple Watch 2, Day Herald reports. According to speculations, there will be a Time Travel function and more clock faces for users to choose from. The update will also make the smartwatch more independent from a paired iPhone.

The website also points out that the rumors for better battery life are well-founded since the first gen Watch needs to be charged every day because the device drops to 30 percent to 40 percent after a full day.

As for the pricing, Alphr states that it may vary for different models as Apple will offer choices for its consumers. The site states that Apple hopes to bridge the gap of the most expensive Watches with something from mid-range prices.

However, there is no official word from Apple yet and speculations and rumors will remain as is until the company reveals further details.
