PC users rejoice and get your systems ready as Square Enix has announced the official release date and base requirements for running "Rise of the Tomb Raider."

"Rise of the Tomb Raider" storyline comes after the 2013 title "Tomb Raider." In this new title, IB Times describes Lara Croft as a capable explorer, albeit a bit more raw compared to the character used in the game's first few titles.

Lara Croft's newest adventures are set in Siberia. The game's description says in this game, Croft will "form new alliances, and ultimately embrace her destiny as the Tomb Raider."

According to the game developer's press release, the game can be downloaded via the Windows Store, Steam, the Square Enix e-store, Amazon and a host of other retail and online stores beginning Jan. 28. The award-winning video game promises to deliver 4K resolution and support for Windows 10 users.

Square Enix has also recently released a list of minimum system requirements for the PC. Coming via PC Games, the basic hardware specifications needed to run "Rise of the Tomb Raider" are as follows:

  • 64 bit Windows 7
  • Intel Core i3-2100 or its equivalent for AMD users
  • 6 GB RAM
  • 2 GB NVIDIA GTX 650 or AMD HD7770
  • Direct X Version 11
  • 25 GB available storage space on your hard drive

The Standard edition costs $59.99. For an additional $30, gamers will get a Season Pass which includes access to all of the game's DLCs.

Gamers can also enhance their gaming experience with the Collector's Edition. For $149.99, players receive the Digital Deluxe game pack, a 12-inch tall Lara Croft action figure, and reproductions of Lara's journal, necklace and steel case.

Both Scot Amos and Ron Rosenberg, co-heads of Studio at Crystal Dynamics have expressed their delight in the upcoming release of the highly-acclaimed video game for the PC.

"The PC release of 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' continues the positive momentum from our highly successful partnership and collaboration with Microsoft for the launch on Xbox One and Xbox 360," Amos said during the press release.

Rosenberg added, "PC players are a passionate, devoted audience and we know they'll embrace the version created for their systems."

Based on a recent news report IGN, the PC release comes two months after the game was made available for the Xbox One and 360. Although there is no specific date mentioned, PlayStation 4 console owners can expect to play the game sometime during the "Holiday 2016."
