After getting a taste of Sherlock Holmes on the recently aired "Sherlock" Victorian special titled "The Abominable Bride," fans have been clamoring to see more of the famous detective in "Sherlock" Season 4. Now, there are speculations that Season 4 will introduce a new character, Sherlock's third brother who is rumored to be played by Tom Hiddleston.

According to a report from Crossmap claims that one of the juiciest spoilers for "Sherlock" Season 4 is that apart from Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes, Sherlockians will also meet their brother, Sherrinford Holmes.

The news outlet said that Mark Gatiss, executive producer of Sherlock and who also plays the role of Mycroft, has been hinting about the addition of Sherrinford in an online Q&A and has been allegedly eyeing "Thor: Ragnarok" star Tom Hiddleston, who has been famous for his portrayal of Loki in the said film.

In an interview with NPR back in 2014, lead star Benedict Cumberbatch also hints about the possibility that Season 4 may reveal more about the Holmes family.

"You find out about Sherlock's background. You find out that he comes from a truly stable home. It was a gesture in the first episode, but you see that in practice in the third. You see that, as a boy he was deeply insecure -- it begins as a taunt [from his older brother, Mycroft] ... and that comes back to haunt him and he feels like a child. He's reduced to feeling like a child," Cumberbatch revealed.

"Immediately as an actor I wanted to understand who [Sherlock] was, what his parents were. These were questions I asked ... I wanted to understand. [Moffat] was just talking about, 'Can't this guy just be good at what he does and he's your age and he looks like you and he's doing his thing?' And I went, 'No, no Steven, there's a process I've got to go through. I've got to understand how I became this person,'" he added.

Ecumenical News speculates that if these rumors are true, "Sherlock" Season 4 may tackle how Sherlock Holmes was insecure during his childhood.

Meanwhile, Latin Times reports that the cast members who will return for "Sherlock" Season 4 so far are Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman (Dr. Watson), Amanda Abbington (Mary Watson), Louise Brealey (Molly Hooper) and Jonathan Aris (Anderson).
