Losing weight, getting fit and healthy are among the top entries in most people's New Year's Resolution. If you share the same goal, there are tons of workouts that can help you achieve it.

Here are the top five fitness trends to sweat in 2016 from The Irish Times.

1. Wearable Technology - Getting fit this year doesn't necessary mean you have to go to the gym. The biggest fitness trend today can be found on your wrist as the wearable technology. This device includes fitness trackers, smart watches, heart rate monitors and GPS tracking devices.

"Tech devices are now central to our daily lives and have changed the way we plan and manage our workouts," Walter Thompson said. "Wearable devices also provide immediate feedback that can make the wearer more aware of their level of activity and can motivate the user to achieve their fitness goals."

Fitbit is among these wearable technologies. Latinos Health recently reported that this device saved a teen's life from a fatal health condition by simply tracking her heartbeat per minute.

2. High-intensity interval training (Hiit) - For those who want short but sharp exercise, this is for you. This form of cardio alternates short period of intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods. There are short breaks in the middle of the workout, so you can rest and push yourself during the workout period

3. Crossfit - This exercise combines body weight training, strength training and Hiit training. Creina Kane, a crossfitter, said that it works because one is exposed to different kinds of exercise and, for the same reason, one will never get bored. Crossfit is "really good for fat burning and generally leaves you lying on the floor exhausted," she added.

According to HealthFitnessRevolution, Crossfit also improved one's overall health. It focuses one's strength, coordination, flexibility, power, speed, agility, balance, accuracy and endurance that can be achieved by promoting neurological and hormonal adaptations.

4. Aerial acrobatics and Zuu - This is a fun workout that you will forget that you are working out. Aerial acrobatics is about one's movement, balance of core work, strength building and stretching. On the other hand, Zuu develops flexibility and endurance. This is a great cardio workout. This workout lets you imitate the movements of wild animals like gorilla, frog and iguana to name a few that helps you unleash the wild side of yourself.

5. Yoga - This helps you improve your general well-being because it involves your mind, body and spirit. According to Yoga Journal, Yoga improves flexibility, builds muscle strength, perfects posture, protects spine, better bone health, increases blood flow, drains lymphs, boosts immunity and more.

Work out and sweat with these exercises, and soon you will achieve the healthy and fit body that you've been wanting for yourself.
