"Nike Air Jordan 30 XXX," the latest sneaker model between Michael Jordan and Nike's partnership, has been unveiled to the media on Jan. 14 in Chicago at the Adler Planetarium, Uproxx reports.

According to Nike News, the concept for "Nike Air Jordan 30 XXX" first came into fruition in February 2015 during a birthday dinner. Jordan talked to Tinker Hatfield to design the said shoes and the rest was history.

“The next morning I drew a shoe because I knew I was in deep trouble. We had no time. Then I realized it wasn’t good enough to sketch a shoe. I asked for that particular photo of Michael in the slam dunk contest and then I drew," Hatfield told the publication.

Uproxx noted that the "Nike Air Jordan 30 XXX," or simply called XXX, has the same woven upper built as seen on the "Air Jordan XX9." It also features the FlightSpeed cushioning system and will be offered in two color variants. The XXX stands for 30, per Nike News, signifying Nike's globalization in the past 30 years.

Regarding the design's approach, Hatfield, who collaborated with Mark Smith for the XXX, said that the sneakers have "a nice sort of circle. It’s all very internal, rather than the external story of being influenced by a car or architecture or music. Those have been good tools, but this one was different. It was just in my head, so to speak.”

The "Nike Air Jordan 30 XXX," as described by Nike News, has an "asymmetrical top line" surrounded by a knit collar. Hatfield also adapted the FlightSpeed cushioning system from XX9 but redesigned it.

The "Nike Air Jordan 30 XXX" features a smooth combination of woven, knit and printed materials to form a nice silhouette, with the trademark smooth toe piece. Also, by using a knit cradle, the glue needed to form the shoe is reduced and heel stability is secured. You can check some of the leaked images of the pair posted by Complex.

Hatfield revealed to Uproxx that Jordan himself was impressed with the new XXX, saying, "I think it’s most important to make sure the athlete, Michael in this case, is comfortable with the direction. He loved it.”

“We feel like if we’re doing our job right, the result will be beautiful or interesting," Hatfield said as quoted by the publication. "You have to rise to our level. We’re not going to drop down to yours.”

Fans who are anticipating the release of "Nike Air Jordan 30 XXX" can purchase it starting Feb. 12, 2016 at a price tag of $200.
