For those that have been waiting a long time to get a chance at Tom Clancy's “The Division” multiplayer beta, here's great news! Ubisoft has finally announced the closed beta dates and it won't be too long – it will run from Jan. 28 to 31.

To ensure guaranteed access to “The Division's” closed beta, one has to pre-order the game. Signing up at “The Division” website for a spot on the waitlist just might give hopefuls a chance to get in as well, GameSpot reported.

Those who haven't pre-ordered the game still have a chance through a personalized invitation, PlayStation Lifestyle reported. To do this, ask a friend with access to the beta to input your email address after they redeem their code.

Xbox owners will get a bonus this time, as Ubisoft has decreed that the Jan. 28 beta date is a 24-hour early access only for Xbox players. Hopefuls on the PlayStation 4 and PC will get their hands on the beta beginning Jan. 29.

“The Division” will still release months from now on March 4 but the closed beta will give players an opportunity to experience what it feels like to be part of the division. The multiplayer beta will reportedly be set in Manhattan's Chelsea Pier and will give beta testers a chance to explore the game's world. Here's what Ubisoft wrote in its blog regarding the setting:

“Beginning on Manhattan’s Chelsea Pier, the beta will take you through early story-driven missions that establish your foothold in New York. You’ll team up with other agents to battle for loot and outwit other agents in the PvP-enabled Dark Zone.”

Not only will players get the chance to slug it out with other players in the Dark Zone during the beta, they will also get some good stuff from the game's makers.

“Data gathered during the beta along with the feedback you provide us about our game is extremely important to the success and stability of the final retail release of Tom Clancy’s The Division,” Ubisoft said in the FAQs when asked about what beta participants will receive. “As a thank-you for participating in the beta, you may be eligible to receive special in-game rewards that can be unlocked in the full release of the game! More details about this will be revealed at a later date.”
