Celebrity twins Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen are said to have undergone plastic surgery to look differently from each other. However, Ashley's most-recent procedure, the liquid facelift, apparently didn't go so well.

A source revealed that Ashley had the filler procedure right before the holidays, per Radar Online. "But it went horribly wrong," the insider said. "It caused her face to swell, bruise and blacken." The result allegedly left the former actress and fashion mogul completely shaken.

Per Liquid Facelift Association, a liquid facelift helps with reducing lines and wrinkles, but it's a non-surgical procedure that's not recommended for everyone. Aside from its subtle and less than permanent results, it may not be advisable for people with cardiovascular and neuromuscular problems or those with hypersensitivity to treatments.

Ashley was told she experienced necrosis, which the Mayo Clinic described as a condition where the bone tissues die due to inadequate supply of blood. Because of this, the 29-year-old may have a permanent black mark on her skin due to face damage, per Inquistr. However, the same insider said the incident will not stop Ashley from getting more plastic surgery done and all she will do is change doctors.

Meanwhile, Mary Kate has long been rumored to have undergone plastic surgery too, including that time when some fans assumed she went the extreme measures to cosmetically alter her face to look a lot less like Ashley. Daily Mail reported that the twins are fraternal, but the differences in their features are so little that so many mistake them for being identical twins.

"I'm so saddened by Mary-Kate Olsen's plastic surgery decisions," said one fan on Twitter.

"Honestly Mary-Kate looks so old with all of her plastic surgery and botox and shit she could be Ashley's mom #why," remarked another on the social media site.

Wonderwall stated that the twin sister now look a lot older than her age because of the changes she has done to look different. It's not just because of the plastic surgery, but also due to her fashion sense and lifestyle. Per Parent Herald, Mary Kate married her 45-year-old boyfriend in November 2015.

Do you think the twins no longer similar and should they stop getting cosmetic surgery?
