Samsung's newest smartphone line which includes the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and the S7 Edge+ will reportedly be released during the MWC 2016 event next month.

Samsung's newest Galaxy line will reportedly be launched next month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona, Spain.

According to Master Herald, the event has been known for when Samsung usually launch their flagship smartphones in the last couple of years. Additionally, instead of two variants as what the Korean company has done in the past, Samsung will launch the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge and Galaxy S7 Edge+ during the three-day event to be held on Feb. 22 to 25.

The outlet speculates the reason why Samsung is unveiling three new phones may be because of Apple intending to launch their latest smartphone line altogether in one. The iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 7c will reportedly be launched in September this year and in keeping competition, Samsung would like to do it first.

Here are three key features that will be expected from the newest line:

1.) Reinstalled external storage slots

Many fans and users were disappointed when Samsung removed the latest phone's ability to have extendable storage via MicroSD. According to Alphr, the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will reportedly have the microSD slots and on top of that, a better battery upgrade at 3000 mAh and 3600 mAh respectively.

2.) Water and dust resistance

The new flagship smartphones will reportedly be more water-resistant than the S5 line. According to Small Biz Trends, the S7 and S7 Edge will have IP67 (Ingress Protection) certification. The 67 certification rating means that the phones can be protected from water with a depth of up to 1 meter. Additionally, the same could be same for its dust-resistant feature as well.

3.) New and improved camera

According to Neurogadget, Samsung will reportedly cut their camera's megapixels to only 12MP for the rear and 5MP for front camera. The outlet states that cutting off the megapixels will make the photo capture much faster and speed up its processing. The phones will also be installed with an f/1.7 aperture which will be better than its predecessors and the iPhone 6S' aperture as well. To accommodate a better camera, the Galaxy S7 will apparently be thicker than the Galaxy S6 at 7.9 mm with the latter at 6.9mm. The thickening will also house the bigger, better battery as well.
