Want more luscious lips? Here are some simple tips to help make your lips plumper quicker.

1.    Finding the right color

When choosing a lipstick, you can follow Cosmopolitan's advice: If you're fair-skinned, opt for colors that have a blue tint; for women with olive skin tones, pick a color that leans towards red. If you have a darker skin tone, a burgundy red lipstick would work well.

2.    Broken lipsticks

For Latinas who have kids, finding one or several containers with broken lipsticks is normal. No need to throw it out in the trash as Mamas Latinas has a quick and useful tip to help save your lip tool.

The Latina publication recommends using fire to melt and join the broken pieces back together. A lighter or even a match will do.

Once you get the pieces blended, chuck the stick into the fridge for 20 minutes or more. This will allow the lipstick to cool down and harden.

You can also plop your lip colors into the fridge during the hot summer months to keep them from melting.

3.    Exfoliate

Byrdie says all women should exfoliate and hydrate their lips, especially before applying any type of makeup on your lips. Exfoliating your lips creates a smooth canvas and makes it easier to apply lipstick afterward.

Start by applying a balm or scrub over your lips. You can make your own by mixing any type of face serum, lip balm, oil or honey with sugar.

Use a soft toothbrush or even a disposable mascara wand to remove any dry skin or flakes away from your lips.

4.    Make your own color

Running low on funds or can't find the right color for your skin tone? Why not make your own lipstick.

Mamas says crayon lipsticks are trendy, practical yet easy to make. All you need to make your own lip color is some crayons and coconut oil.

Remember to choose colors that you would actually think would look good on your skin.

The finished product can also double as a lip liner.

5.    Making your lips larger

Create the illusion of larger lips just by using two shades of lipstick.

Cosmopolitan says start by applying the darker over your lips. Next, apply the lighter shade over the center area.

The light and dark areas will create the impression of volume. If you are unable to find a lighter shade of lipstick, you can also use a concealer to create the same effect.
