Many speculate that the new Samsung Galaxy S7 will show up during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this coming Feb. 22-25. However, Ival Luchkov's prediction on Twitter brings the launch a couple of days earlier—during the brand's unpacked event on Feb. 20.

PC Advisor believes the announcement will be made on the Saturday before the MWC, in this case Feb. 21. Pre-orders can be made around Feb. 21 to Mar. 3 while the smartphone is set to hit shelves around March 4-17.

Sources indicate that the new Galaxy smartphone will integrate a number of features found on the iPhone 6S. One is the inclusion of the 3D Touch.

According to Forbes, the new display is pressure sensitive, allowing users to access additional options depending on the amount of pressure placed on the device's screen.

On the iPhone, the curved Corning glass includes 96 different sensors which detect changes in pressure. The Galaxy S7 is rumored to have a similar screen with features such as "Quick Actions" and "Peek and Pop."

A similar version of Live Photos is also believed to appear on Samsung's newest flagship. If the feature does not make it when the device launches, Android Geeks believes Samsung will offer Live Photos as an update later in the year.

What makes Samsung's version of Live Photos unique is that it will not include sound. This will make it easier to upload the photo to social media outlets such as Facebook as a GIF file.

According to Evan Bass, Samsung will launch three variants of the smartphone: the Galaxy S7, S7 Edge and the S7 Edge+.

Although Samsung offered the same number of variants last year, Yahoo says this will be the first time all models will hit the market at the same time.

The microSD card slot is expected to return on the S7 says The Indian Express. Yahoo says, other rumored features on the water resistant phone include a larger battery, a USB Type-C port for fast charging, and an iris scanner.

Reports by WCCF Tech indicate that the new smartphone will be 10 percent cheaper than the S6. The source says a savings of approximately $40 dollars might help make the S7 do better on the market than its predecessor.
