Even though there's still a long wait before fans of hit video game series "Kingdom Hearts" experience its latest installment, "Kingdom Hearts III," game director Tetsuya Nomura has some interesting details on how the game's development is progressing and if "Kingdom Hearts" is coming to an end, per Cross Map.

The publication recently uncovered an interview of Nomura with Games TM that reveals the director talking about the highly anticipated game. In the interview, Nomura talked about the new battle system and moves for "Kingdom Hearts III."

"I feel that going through the different spin-off titles and ideas for battle systems, how the gameplay there works, we kind of learned from that and implemented a new battle system as well as introducing new and unique moves," the director told the publication.

He also talked about new additions to the gameplay such as the Keyblade Transformation, which will be a vital part on Sora's combat and story.

"There have been many bold additions to Kingdom Hearts III in combat. And those are only possible because we have access to the better hardware but it hasn't necessarily been things I couldn't have done then. It's more that I learned from the experiments of the spin-offs," Nomura explained.

Meanwhile, when asked when the "Kingdom Hearts" series is ending. Nomura revealed that he and Disney have not yet talked about that but assured fans that he will keep on creating "Kingdom Hearts" as long as Disney continues with it, saying, "It's a matter of how long can I keep creating for Kingdom Hearts!"

As for when will "Kingdom Hearts III" will be available for public consumption, in a recent interview with Famitsu via Kingdom Hearts Insider, Nomura revealed that "Kingdom Hearts III" as well as "Final Fantasy VII Remake" are now entering a crucial stage of development.

"KINGDOM HEARTS III and FINAL FANTASY VII Remake have entered a significant time of development, although like every year when it is in the middle of development, PR will release information to the public. Such as arcades and in regards to copyrights, and with respect to what management is continuing to do, we’ll try to make our content more fun," he said as quoted by the publication.

Because of this statement, Attack of the Fanboy speculates that it will only be a matter of time before fans will experience these long-awaited game, probably in 2017.
