The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2016 is next month and while many companies are gearing up to launch their flagship phones during the event, it seems that HTC will hold out on their own until March.

According to GSM Arena, the HTC One M10 will be officially launched in April after being unveiled in March.

The newest flagship from HTC is named HTC One M10, owing to the fact that its last two predecessors were named HTC One M9 and HTC One M8.

In the past years, HTC has been using the MWC event as a platform to unveil their flagship phones but this time they were unable to do so because of delays. The One M10 prototypes reportedly did not pass the standard and were sent back to the design team to create a new one.

According to the International Business Times, the rumors apparently come from a Chinese source. As for the specs, here are the top 5 expected features:

1.) Qualcomm Snapdragon 820

The One M10 will reportedly house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. It will be coming out of the box ready to run on Android Marshmallow.

2.) Fingerprint scanner

As for notable features, it will reportedly have a fingerprint scanner for added security and authentication and a 3,000 mah battery capacity.

3.) HTC Sense 8.0

The device will reportedly run with the newest version of the software suit at version 8.0

4.) 23-MP camera

The phone's camera will reportedly be better. While there may also be a front camera, rumors of it are

5.) Water and dust proof

GSM reports that the handset has an IP68 certification, meaning it is resistant to water and dust at a depth of 1 meter.

Rumors say that the HTC One M10 will have 4GB RAM and two variants of memory capacities of either 64GB or 128 GB, reports Christian Post. It might also come with a QHD display. The website adds that if the handset features wireless charging, the body of the smartphone will not be made out of metal as the two do not work well together.

There is no official word from the Taiwanese company, so until then, all rumors will be mere speculations and will remain as such until confirmed.

The MWC 2016 this coming Feb. 22 to 25 is considered to be the year's largest supershow for mobile gadgets and news. It takes place in Barcelona, Spain every year. Big mobile companies take this chance to showcase their products.
