There were many speculations about Rey even before "The Force Awakens" came out. One recent theory suggested that she might be the reincarnation of Anakin Skywalker.

According to Movie Pilot, a YouTube video by a user under the name manyymedia suggested a new theory about Rey. There were many speculations that she might be Luke Skywalker's daughter while some were hoping that she is related to Obi-Wan Kenobi.

So what supports this new claim? The first sign is the lightsaber that was owned by Anakin and passed down to him by Luke. The theory claimed that the lightsaber made its way to Rey. The next evidence pointed the similarities of Rey and Anakin. Both of them lived on a desert planet, both are mechanics, both are friendly to droids and both are skilled pilots.

The theory also tackled how Rey managed to withstand Kylo Ren's mind reading. Given that she has never used a lightsaber before, Rey managed to defeat Kylo Ren. Another giveaway was the flashbacks Rey had when she touched Anakin's lightsaber. First was Darth Vader's heavy breathing, then she saw the Cloud City and a lava world. The theory said that these were Anakin's memories.

In conclusion, the theory said that apart from Anakin, another reincarnated being is also "The Chosen One." Rey was speculated as the reincarnation, which also served as her punishment for her past crimes.

Meanwhile, an article from Hollywood Reporter stated that "Star Wars: Episode 8" is delayed for seven months. From the original May 2017 release, it was pushed back to December of the same year. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" will get the old release date of "Star Wars". The movie will see the return of Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow.

An insider claimed that the "Star Wars" release date was pushed back because of the massive success of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Disney and Lucasfilm decided to give the next movie the same Christmas treatment, and hopefully, it would get the same kind of response. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is the highest grossing domestic release of all time, earning over $861.3 million. It is also the third biggest earning movie released globally, with over $1.8 billion in total earnings.

According to the Star Wars website, the film is already in preproduction and will begin principal photography next month in London. It will be produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Ram Bergman, while J.J. Abrams, Tom Karnowski and Jason McGatlin will be executive producers. "Star Wars: Episode 8" will be written and directed by Rian Johnson.
