A commitment to a healthier lifestyle often happens at the beginning of the year. So, here are the emerging health trends for 2016 that you might want to try if you want to stay fit and healthy.

Fox News reported on the different health trends that might hit off this year. Based on The Future 100 of J. Walter Thomson Intelligence report on 100 trends to expect this year, the news site has identified some of the trends that are already gaining popularity. Likewise, Independent UK also had predicted health trends for this year.

So here are the different health trends that you might look out for:

New Natural Beauty

Many U.K. beauty products have sought out natural ingredients for their products as consumers move away from mainstream brands, conscious of toxins and pollutants present in them. The health and beauty industry is slowly transforming into natural branding and messaging.

Consumers have evolved to become critical and sophisticated. They learn to question the standard and analyze the messages brought by different brands.

Feminine Care Revolution

Feminine products are getting a lot of attention as it evolves from a frowned-on necessity to a celebrated staple. Social media was outraged over the controversial product as the European Union regarded feminine care products as luxury items. On one hand, California state legislation has introduced a bill to make feminine products tax free.

It is no longer the traditional pads and tampons for the female market. There's a smart menstrual cup that tracks and analyze menstrual patterns. Results are then shown on a simple application on your phone.

Healthonism

A combination of exercise and late night drinking has been emerging in some parts of Europe. A study published in the journal Health Psychology found that people tend to drink more on the same days that they exert more than the usually physical activity. Consumers engaged in health and wellbeing have made a way to balance things with fun.

Fitness club Equinox's London Kensington location, for example, hosts quarterly After Dark events for its members and guests who are treated to a variety of yoga classes before the DJ sets in and cocktails are served.

Sirts

It's no longer counting calories this year reports said. Instead, it's counting Sirts. There are certain foods rich in nutrients that can allegedly trigger the same "skinny" genes in the body as fasting does.

Studio Lagree

These are targeted exercises performed at a slow and controlled pace on a "Megaformer" platform. It is said to activate slow twitch muscle fibers to build the long lean physique.

DNA Fitness

Taking advantage of technology, several companies are now offering personalized diets based on your genetic make-up. To maximize the diet and exercise, companies analyze your genes to see what kind of foods suit you best and how you respond to exercise.
