There have been a lot of speculations that the Democratic presidential aspirant, Hillary Clinton, is not healthy enough to become the next leader of the most powerful country in the world. Critics are saying that the former Secretary of State may not be able to handle the stress that comes with the job.

The wife of former U.S. president Bill Clinton made it clear on Saturday that all these concerns about her current health are just rumors that started from her political rivals in an effort to smear her reputation, Bloomberg reported.

Clinton said that her opponents are saying almost anything about her.

"I've got to tell you-there are several themes they keep beating the drums on," said the 68-year-old Clinton, after a woman from Iowa raised a question about her health. It has been reported by Fox News that Clinton has been having issues with her health and there are doubts if she can handle the job as a president.

Clinton was in Iowa to kick off the series of campaigns she planned for the coming presidential election.

"I'll match my endurance against anybody," added Clinton. She also cited a letter from her doctor with a statement that the former first lady is definitely fit and in good physical condition to serve as the country's leader.

Clinton's health issue is nothing new. She was rushed to the hospital in 2012 after she lost her consciousness and struck her head at her residence. The former New York Senator sustained a concussion and follow-up checkup revealed a blood clot in her head. Clinton stayed a few days at the hospital and the doctors were able to help her fully recovered.

Nevertheless, her political opponents have been questioning the status of her health. Clinton has been on the receiving end of a series of attacks thrown at her by the Republican Party.

Wall Street Journal informed that Clinton assured the crowd in Iowa that she is fit to lead the country.

She even used the issue to mock Fox News by sharing a story about her and her late mother.

"I would come home from the Senate or I would come home from the State Department, and she'd be watching Fox News, and I'd say, 'Mom, why are you watching Fox News? They make up so much stuff, and you know, they just have a political agenda," she told the crowd.

According to Clinton, her mom responded by saying: "I've got to know what they're saying, so I'm ready!"
