FX's new 10-episode miniseries "American Crime Story" will be delving into the high-profile case of ex-football player and former actor O.J. Simpson.

Several A-list celebrities have been cast to take on the major roles in Ryan Murphy's new television series. According to Inquisitr, the list includes Cuba Gooding, Jr. as O.J., Sarah Paulson as head prosecutor Marcia Clark, John Travolta as defense attorney Robert Shapiro, and David Schwimmer as Simpson's friend and defense attorney Robert Kardashian.

Gooding admits that he did not visit Simpson in jail or get to know more of his character in preparation for the series. On the Daily Trojan, he described O.J. as a different man, changed by his experience of being incarcerated.

Sarah Paulson, who is also playing a role in Murphy's "American Horror Story," believes the series is not just a retelling of the case but also looks into the story of the lawyers on both sides. Vanity Fair says an episode focusing on Marcia Clark offers "a portrait of a working woman struggling in a man's world that is as poignant as anything you will see."

Viewers will also be given a treat by seeing a different side of the Kardashian family. In an interview with People Magazine, Kris Jenner revealed her feelings about seeing her family's story being featured on the crime series.

"I'm excited in a lot of ways, and I'm anxious about it, and I want to see how it turns out, but I've heard it's really good," Jenner told reporters. "It will be kind of weird to watch it on TV as someone who lived that whole thing."

The Kardashian matriarch says she was stoked on hearing that Schwimmer was playing the role of her late husband as "Robert was one of David's biggest fans when they were doing 'Friends,' back in the day - he watched it religiously." Selma Blair will be taking on the role of Robert Kardashian's wife.

Although the first season premiere episode has not been shown on television yet, the premise for the second season has already been released. Daily Trojan says Season 2 will be based on the story and devastation left by Hurricane Katrina.

Not everybody is thrilled about Season 2's storyline. GQ believes creating 10 episodes on a storm will not do well with viewers.

Instead, the men's magazine suggests going into the drama between Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan. The publication has provided a list of actors who would suit the major roles on their website.

"American Crime Story" Season 1 premieres on Feb. 2 at 10 p.m. ET at the FX Channel.
