Xbox One players delight as the first-person shooter game "Homefront: The Revolution" is conducting closed beta stress tests from Feb. 11 to 14. Polygon says another set of trials will be offered on two consecutive Fridays, Jan. 29 and Feb. 5.

Access to the two Friday stress tests will be available by invitation only. Gamers who are interested to take part in the beta trials can sign up on the Homefront Game website.

There is no specific page for registering for the beta phase. TechnoBuffalo says signing up for an account on the site counts as the player's registration for the trial.

The complete game is said to launch on May 17 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and the Windows PC. During the release, the game will come with approximately 12 Resistance Mode scenarios.

PC World says another 20 DLCs will be released within the next twelve months. All the content can be downloaded for free.

In a recent report by Gamespot, the game developer is also offering players free access to guns, mods and skins for an entire year. The free DLC plus added bonus items should encourage players to try out the game once it hits stores in May.

As described by IGN, the game is set sometime in the future with the United States being conquered by North Korea.

Here, Gamespot says the enemy possesses more technologically-advanced weapons. The player's option is to use guerilla tactics, essentially hit the target and run.

Reports indicate that "Homefront" offers two modes: the single-player campaign and the multiplayer "Resistance Mode." The multiplayer game allows a total of four players to play guerrilla for 20 minutes.

Metro has provided a brief inside look at what to expect with the 'Resistance Mode' of the game.

According to the publication, the multiplayer mode on 'Homefront' offers a unique way of customizing characters. Here, characters are not categorized into different groups or classes.

One interesting aspect of the game is that it allows players to choose the character's previous occupation. Choosing a particular job unlocks a unique bonus.

Players can access a plethora of weapons at any time during the game. Items such as Molotovs and grenades can be bought using card packs.

Pre-ordering the game provides players access to the Revolutionary Spirit Pack. VG 24/7 says the pack will include the following items:

  • Red Skull motorbike skin (Campaign mode)
  • Golden skin for pistol (Campaign mode)
  • Unlock for Remote Explosive, Sniper Scope and Marksman Rifle (Resistance Mode)
